With two million listings world-wide and growing rapidly, quality of photos was at the top of Home Away’s list to enhance the experience for both the traveler and the owner. But professional photography for everyone was not a realistic option at their current point.
Data scientists were using AI to rate listing photo quality. Utilizing this analysis, my team and I designed solution that would educate owners and enable them to bring their listing photos up a few grades, bringing photos on the entire platform up to a more appealing quality.
This project was conceptualized, designed and presented by myself and my business partner at Awake, Phi Hoang for HomeAway (now known as Vrbo). Some of the original ideas made it into production, but most of it helped influence design decisions in building a new direction for Design Language and extensions to some existing features.
